Last Day at Redford Market

Hi everyone!

This past Sunday was the last Farmer’s Market at the Redford Marquee!

We want to thank the amazing customers in the Redford area for supporting us and the market all summer! All of us vendors truly appreciate you showing up each week! Thank you all!

Our second huge thanks goes to our wonderful Market Manager Melinda! She works so hard every week to make the market a success. Between creating a fun farmer’s market atmosphere , dealing with all of us vendors and creating events to draw in the people, she is a great asset to the Redford Community! Thank you Melinda!

And to all the wonderful hard working vendors, thank you for making the market season a fun and enjoyable one!

On the last day of this fun market, the Jaycees sponsored a “Chili Cook-off”!

The esteemed judges sampled numerous chili entries to find the winner!

We had the pleasure of enjoying some great music preformed by “Hot Ugly”! They were great! Thank you guys! 

Everyone seemed to have a fun time at this last Farmer’s Market of the season. Even our four legged friends joined the event!

So, once again, we want to thank all of the folks in Redford for a terrific Farmer’s Market season! Thank you for coming out each Sunday and supporting all of us!

Busy Few Days Ahead!

The next three days are going to be busy but lots of fun!

Tomorrow is the October classes at MSU Extension!

Friday:

Oct. 11 classes are:

1-2:30 "The Herbal First Aid kit" (beginner), 

3:00-4:30 is "Tinctures & Tisanes" (Advanced)

6-7:30 is "The Herbal First Aid Kit" again! It's not to late to call and reserve your seat!

Saturday:

October 12 from 10-6:00 we will be at the Gibraltar Fall Festival! It is going to be a blast! There will be crafters, food, music, hay rides and lots of fun family entertainment! The weather looks like it will be a beautiful day as well!

Sunday:

October 13 10-3:00 is the last Farmer’s Market at the Marquee in Redford!

It is going to be a blast! There will be all the wonderful vendors, food and music!

That’s right! There is going to be a Chili Cook-off!

We will have our Herbed Chili Seasoning available and we will have delicious samples available! Oh, just in time for this fun event we will have our Herbed Cornbread mixes available AND we will be selling individual servings of the cornbread already made up! Can’t have chili without the cornbread!!

So, you don’t want to miss the last day at Redford this Sunday! Lots of fun and yumminess happening!!

Let the Pumpkin Seed Harvest Begin!

Hi everyone!

We have our first patch of herbed pumpkin seeds ready for sale!

Yes that would be a trailer loaded with a bunch of pumpkins!

Since we are not pumpkin farmers, we put out the word to all our friends, family and associates that we needed pumpkin seeds!

We are fortunate to have made so many friends from the different farmer’s markets, Troy came home with all these pumpkins Sunday evening!

When Troy was at the Redford Farmer’s Market, he spread the word around regarding the need for pumpkins. Melinda, one of the most amazing Farmer Market managers, told Troy they had a bunch that were part of a pumpkin painting event and that he was welcome to them! Woohoo!

Monday was spent gutting, cleaning and roasting pumpkin seeds!

Once seasoned with our herbs and roasted, I had to snitch some for home!

So all you good folks at Wyandotte Farmer’s Market, we will have the herbed pumpkins seeds available! And this Thursday is the last Farmer’s Market in Wyandotte! So, make sure to stop by and stock up on your favorite DTL Herb products!

Michigan State Fair

Hi everyone!

Wow, it has been a crazy busy past week for us! On very short notice we decided to be part of the Michigan State Fair this past weekend. This was the first time they invited vendors from the Farmer Markets to participate. So, we raced like crazy to gear up for the event!

We introduced a couple of new products just for this weekend. We hope to continue to carry them to some regular farmer’s markets as well.

We had our latest product, Sun Dried Tomato & Basil Spread available in both dry packet form and ready to eat containers.

We finally got our Finishing salt to where we like it. This will probably be a regular item of ours. People have asked for it and we now have it available.

We enjoyed the Michigan State Fair and had a successful 4 days! Now we are wiped out and need a  little down time!

Redford IART Festival

Hi everyone!

Last weekend we were part of a 3 day weekend festival. We had our DTL Herb booth set up and we were also selling Kettle Corn both outside and in the Marquee. It was a very busy weekend for us.

I thought I would share a few pictures of some of the things that were going on around us.

Some of the vendors inside the Marquee. This is where the Farmer’s Market is held each Sunday so, a lot of the farmer market vendors joined in on the fun for the weekend.

They had a line up of entertainment inside the Marquee as well. There was music, dancing, magic, fencing, karate, painting and a lot more.

Lots of activities were planned both inside and out.

Fun activities for the kids.

Outside entertainment all weekend long.

There was even a bra auction! Say what? People decorated bras and they went up on a silent auction. Ours is the top center picture (a pink bra with an herb planter inside it). All the proceeds went to benefit the Redford Parks and Art Conservancy and Gilda's Club.

It was one long hot busy weekend but, it was also a lot of fun!

Redford Farmer’s Market Planter

Hi everyone!

One of the farmer’s Markets that we sell at is the Redford market. This is such an awesome market! Our customers are wonderful, the market manager is amazing and all the other vendors are fun to be around.

And the venue is such a fantastic place! it is a round brick pavilion with large open windows. So, when it rains, we can still have the market. And no setting up the tent!

Melinda, our wonderful market manager at Redford asked a couple of vendors if they would like to donate and create a planter box for the Marquee.

So, of course ours is not filled with flowers but, instead they are filled with yummy herbs!

This planter is going to fill in beautifully in a couple of weeks.

Have you ever thought to plant a herb container garden? This planter is so pretty and it is edible. Keep snipping and using the herbs and the planter will stay full and lush all season!

We also create customized herb planter for a local businesses. This is one at a pizzeria that is filled with Italian cooking herbs.

Chive Blossom Vinegar is Back!

Hi everyone!

We have had one good size harvest of chive blossoms this year. And the vinegars are finally ready!

All of our vinegars are bottle with the plastic pour insert.

We will have available these NEW flavors of vinegar:

• Chive blossom
• Oregano
• Savory
• Tarragon
• Cilantro

All of our Herbed Vinegars are made from 100% naturally grown herbs!

And if you have seen other flavored vinegars at the markets, you know that our bottle is larger than the others and our price is lower. And quite honestly, ours are the BEST!

Wayne Farmer’s Market

Hi everyone!

Wednesdays from 3-7pm you will find us at the Wayne Farmer’s Market. It is in a new location this year, Goudy park.

The location is beautiful!

Lots of fun vendors are there.

It’s a really lovely place to bring the family. Enjoy the market

Then have a picnic in the park.

And the kids can play and have lots of fun!

And this time of the year it is simply beautiful!

Where we will be this week

Hi everyone!

This week we will be adding another Farmer’s Market to our schedule!

NEW FARMER’S MARKET FOR US!!

On Tuesday from 2:00 – 6:00  we will be at the Downtown Ypsilanti Farmer’s market (at Ferris and Hamilton) . This will be our first time at this location so, we are pretty excited! We hope to see you there!

On Wednesday we will be back at the Wayne Farmer’s Market from 3:00 – 7:00 at the new location in Goudy Park!

On Saturday we will be at the Ypsilanti Depot Town Market from 9:00 – 1:00.

Sunday we will be at Lincoln Park from 11:00 – 4:00
